Changelog 0.6.2 - Windows + OpenAI API Compatibility!

Support for Windows and cloud models from Gemini and OpenAI is live!

This update is a big one for Tome. We're kicking off weekly changelogs, and for our first post we're covering everything from versions 0.4.0 to 0.6.2 - a bundle of three weekly releases since our last update on the Smithery integration. Check out the latest release here!

šŸ”® Major Updates

  • Windows Support: Our most requested feature is here: Tome now runs on Windows!
  • Built-in Support for OpenAI and Gemini: Both engines are now available as defaults in the settings. We added Gemini because of how easy it is to get an API key and because of their generous free tier.
  • OpenAI API Compatible Integration: You can now connect any OpenAI-compatible API. We've tested OpenRouter, Cortex, and LM Studio - they all work great.
  • In-App Updates: Tome now notifies you when an update is available and upgrades with a single click.

šŸŖ„ Minor Updates

  • Favorite Model: Set a default model that automatically loads when you start a new chat.
  • Improved Tool Call UX: Tool calls are now neatly truncated with an option to expand for a cleaner chat experience.
  • Syntax Highlighting in Chat: Code is now easier to read with in-chat syntax highlighting.
  • Window position and size preserved through restarts

As always, we love to hear from you so make sure to join us on Discord and to star us on GitHub!
